Mark A. Bretz, Chairman of the Board

Mark is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Montana. Mark is also the Chairman of the Board of the Bancorp of Montana Holding Company.

The Bancorp of Montana Holding Company was formerly known as Montana Business Capital Corporation. Montana Business Capital Corporation is a highly successful commercial mortgage brokerage firm that effectively evolved into the Bank of Montana.

Background

Mark Bretz is the President, and co-owner, of Bretz RV & Marine, the largest RV dealer in Montana, Idaho, Eastern Washington, Wyoming, Utah and the Dakotas. In 1995, Bretz RV & Marine was named National RV Dealer of the Year an award that is only bestowed on one RV dealership nationally on an annual basis based on a national peer review.  Each dealership winner is only eligible to receive this award only one time.  Mark’s banking background also includes being a former Bank and Holding Company Director at a National Bank in Montana.

Mark served as a managing partner in a real estate development company that was closed in 2006.

Mark owns 2 motels in Missoula, MT, www.creeksideinnmissoula.com, www.mycreeksidecondo.com
and www.travelersinnmissoula.com. He is a majority owner of First Service Corp. a service contract company as well as an active participant in an RV dealership peer review group.Mark serves as chairman of the board of the RVDA/RVIA technician certification board of directors.


Mark is the cofounder and current Treasurer of REDEX, the World’s largest RV Dealer buying group. Mark Bretz is the past Treasurer and current Board member for the National Recreational Vehicle Dealer’s Association and the former President of the Montana Manufactured Housing and RV Association. His current community involvement includes being a member of the Montana Academy of Distinguished Entrepreneurs (MADE) at the University of Montana. Mark is a licensed multi-engine, instrument-rated, aircraft pilot.

Interests

Mark is an active pilot and flies literally hundreds of hours per year. In 2007 Mark flew solo on a transcontinental loop from Montana down through Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, and then back to Montana via Cuba and the Cayman Islands. Mark also volunteers with Angel Flight. Angel Flight is an organization that makes use of highly skilled volunteer pilots with aircraft capable of comfortably flying very ill patients to desperately needed medical care in more urban areas like Minneapolis, Seattle, and Denver.  In 2007 Mark and his wife rode their bikes in “STP” a ride from Seattle, Washington to Portland, Oregon a 204 mile ride.   In addition to those interests, Mark enjoys skiing, snowmobiling, boating, scuba diving, traveling, and spending time with his family.


Transaction Account Guarantee Program Disclosure:

Bank of Montana is participating in the FDIC’s Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through June 30, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules.

The FDIC will protect NOW accounts in full if the interest rate does not exceed 0.5 percent. Swept or transferred funds from your noninterest-bearing transaction accounts may be subject to insurance limitations. The FDIC will protect public deposits up to the $250,000 limit under its general deposit insurance rules.
Bank of Montana does offer accounts with interest in excess of 0.5 percent.
